HOUSING LEADS OPEN TO REGISTERED PERSONS FOR STATES A-M
Updated 6 March 2024
Derek W. Logue of OnceFallen.com

NOTE: If you need general tips on finding housing, please visit our “FINDING HOUSING” page.

ABOUT THIS LIST: In 2021, my housing list became too long to manage on a single page, so in an effort to help keep this list easy to access, I have broken the housing list down into two parts. This housing list covers state beginning with the letters A to M (Alabama through Montana).

IF THE STATE WHERE YOU ARE SEEKING HOUSING BEGINS WITH THE LETTER A THROUGH THE LETTER M, THEN YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT PAGE. PLEASE READ THE DISCLAIMERS. IF YOU DO NOT SEE YOUR STATE LISTED, I HAVE NO LEADS FOR YOUR STATE. STATES ARE LISTED ALPHABETICALLY. IF THE STATE WHERE YOU ARE SEEKING BEGINS WITH THE LETTER N THROUGH THE LETTER Z, THEN…

CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE HOUSING LIST FOR STATES N-Z (NEBRASKA TO WYOMING)

Post-Release Housing Options — Transitional Housing, Shelters, and Renters open to Registered Persons ( i.e., those labeled “Sex Offenders”)

For the first few years of OnceFallen.com’s existence, I had less than a couple dozen leads for the entire USA. Now, my housing list has grown so large, I needed to split the housing list into TWO separate pages. Scroll down to the bottom of this page

NOTES AND DISCLAIMERS FOR THIS HOUSING LIST

HOUSING AND PROGRAMS OPEN TO PERSONS FORCED TO REGISTER ON THE “SEX OFFENDER” REGISTRY IS IN HIGH DEMAND!

  • Halfway/Transitional Housing Programs
  • Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Programs
  • Renters and Realtors
  • Emergency Shelters and Extended Stay Hotels
  • Programs that offer housing referrals and/or rental assistance

If you have a lead, please send an email with your name and a description of your program/property (with info on how to contact you) to iamthefallen1@yahoo.com

OnceFallen also maintains a list of housing providers that I cannot list publicly. If I have unlisted housing leads for a particular state, I will list it below. Please lookl before calling me to ask if I have unlisted leads for your state. If I don’t state that I do, then I do not have leads. I update my housing list frequently.

Many transitional/halfway house programs listed may only accept residents from within the state, and some only accept residents of specific counties.

Demand far exceeds supply and some have waiting lists. Many leads come from large resource lists from various sources. Properties can open, close, change policies on accepting Registered Persons, or move at any given time. While I provide this list as a courtesy to those in need of housing, I make no guarantees any of these programs are open and available to accept new clients. This project is a monumental task for a one-person operation, and I rely on others to help me find new leads and/or verify leads are still current. If you find a defunct listing or information on this page is inaccurate, please let me know by email at iamthefallen1@yahoo.com

FEDERAL PRISONERS: The housing options listed on the OnceFallen.com housing list may not be helpful to those seeking an approved “Residential Reentry Center” (RRC)/ Halfway House. Under the federal system, you serve 85% of your time with the last 10% (up to 6 months) spent in a halfway house. To get your 6 months halfway house, you need to have a halfway house that can take you. If none are available, you spend that 6 months behind the fence. Because each location are subject to state and local different residency restrictions, some of these programs may be unable to accept someone with a sex offense conviction. A directory of approved federal RRCs can be found at

KENTUCKY

The KYDoC website has general resource lists by district. CLICK HERE to access the resource directory. (Once you click the link, look for the option on the lefthand menu labeled “Community Resources” and click the downward facing arrow. The state is broken into regions. However, not all housing on that list is open to those on the registry.

The following places were listed on the resource page as of August 2022 on the state DoC website, which has general resource lists by district at https://corrections.ky.gov/Reentry/Pages/default.aspx

The MO DOC Reentry contains a resource database at https://doc.mo.gov/programs/reentry-housing

When accessed in August 2022, the resource page was set up with a list of options on the right hand side of the screen, and you can choose “does not exclude sex offender” to weed out programs that will reject RCs, and you can narrow by service type, like permanent, temporary, & emergency shelter (only select “does not exclude sex offenders” and one other criteria at a time or you may miss some leads, because the more options you select, the more listings are excluded). Below are the listings that fit this search criteria:
